Dodge builds the best-selling minivans in the world with Caravan and the stretched-wheelbase Grand Caravan. For 2003 the minivans offer a new power sunroof and DVD-based video entertainment system. Safety gear ranges from frontal air bags and side-impact air bags to second-row seats with LATCH (Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children) anchors for mounting compatible child safety seats. Adjustable accelerator and brake pedals are also available on any Caravan or Grand Caravan model as a bonus for safety, moving forward or back up to three inches to fit the driver. Power motivation for opening and closing doors applies to both sliding slabs, if desired, as well as the rear liftgate, which has a driver-controlled switch for pop-up or drop-down movement. Another smart idea goes to the rear bay where a modular cargo organizer with folding partitions springs up and can accommodate six sacks of groceries. Grand Caravan's optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system carries an inter-axle viscous coupling that automatically channels engine torque to front and rear axles. The entry edition Caravan has a 2.4-liter in-line four-pack engine rated at 150 hp, but there are several V6 engines available for the series beginning with a 3.3-liter V6 worth 180 hp. New colors coat these Caravans, like Butane Blue and Satin Jade.

Dodge built the first minivans in 1984 and in 2004 marks two decades of Caravan production with a special limited Anniversary Edition model based on a Dodge Grand Caravan SXT.

Also, new features appear throughout the Caravan line, such as a Tire Pressure Monitor Warning Lamp standard on all models with aluminum wheels, a new easy-to-use key fob design and more audio and entertainment packages. Adjustable accelerator and brake pedals are available on any Caravan or Grand Caravan model as a bonus for safety. Power motivation for opening and closing doors applies to both sliding slabs, if desired, as well as the rear liftgate, which has a driver-controlled switch for pop-up or drop-down movement.

Five versions of Caravan this year include the Caravan regular-length wheelbase trimmed as SE and SXT or long-wheelbase Grand Caravan in SE, eX and the SXT with front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) formats. The entry edition Caravan has a 2.4-liter in-line four-pack engine rated at 150 hp, but there are two V6 engines available with a 3.3-liter V6 worth 180 hp and a 3...

Dodge built the first minivan back in 1984 and carries the series forward into 2006 with innovations like standard BeltAlert warning for driver and front passenger seats, and Stow 'n Go, a seat system for second and third rows that folds into the floor.

The entry edition Caravan uses a 2.4-liter in-line four-pack engine rated at 150 hp, but there are two V6 plants available for the minivans at 3.3 liters or 3.8 liters.

The series continues in 2006 with Caravan on a regular-length wheelbase and the long-wheelbase Grand Caravan with front-wheel-drive (FWD) format. Optional gear on 2006 models extends from power sliding side doors and a power-operated rear liftgate to curtain-style side air bags for all three rows of seats and a rear DVD-based video entertainment system. Fresh paint colors also apply in 2006 with shades like Butane Blue Pearl Coat and Linen Gold Metallic.
