Cadillac's prime sport utility vehicle leads the luxury class as the most powerful full-size sport utility vehicle. The top edition, outfitted with an automatic all-wheel-drive (AWD) traction device, promotes an enormous 6.0-liter V8 engine that produces 345 hp. Power is applied to all wheels through an AWD mechanism that's always engaged.
Also automatic is the Z55 Autoride suspension with continuously-variable road-sensing damping and air-leveling shock absorbers for precise ride control. Stretched 22 inches longer than Escalade, the ESV is a super-size SUV that compares to Chevrolet's Suburban but with Escalade's lavish features plus class-capping muscle. It also develops the highest gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR) and tow numbers.
ESV gets Escalade's 6.0-liter V8 for 345 hp. The engine uses a heavy-duty four-speed automatic transmission with all power sent to all wheels through the constantly-engaged AWD mechanism.
Three rows of leather-clad seats provide room for seven people plus generous cargo space in the rear bay. A Platinum Edition adds premium features and materials, such as accents in walnut burl wood and chrome, with deluxe communications gear standard like OnStar telecommunications, a Bose audio system and DVD-based video kit for rear seat riders as well as XM satellite radio service. Five exterior colors mark elite ESV Platinum: White Diamond, Black Raven, Quicksilver, Red E and Rip Tide Blue.

The 2008 Cadillac Escalade Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is credited with helping to bring the brand back from near extinction by attracting the youngest buyers the brand has ever seen. The 2008 Cadillac Escalade SUV is available in two versions, the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD MSRP $55,990) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD MSRP $58,490). It competes with the with the GMC Yukon, Infiniti QX56, Land Rover Range Rover, Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Both trim levels are available with a 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 engine, six-speed shiftable automatic transmission, and rear-locking differential. Center limited slip differential is an additional drivetrain feature for the AWD trim level.
The Cadillac Escalade was the automaker's first major entry into the sport utility vehicle arena. The Escalade is based on the GMC Yukon Denali and was redesigned for the 2002 model year to make its appearance fall more in line with Cadillac's new design theme.  This model is currently in its third generation, and is being produced in Arlington, Texas.
The Cadillac Escalade has front independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and an active suspension. It also has short and long arm front suspension, self-leveling suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension.
Exterior features of the Cadillac Escalade include 18 x 8.0 inch alloy wheels, all season tires, a full-size non-matching spare tire, steel spare wheel and an underbody-mounted spare tire. It is also equipped with intermittent wipers, a roof rack, an intermittent rear wiper, privacy glass, and a rear defogger. The Cadillac Escalade comes with a chrome grille, and a power lift-gate door with a manual flip-up window. Exterior truck features include an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler and step running boards.
Cadillac Escalade instrumentation features include a tachometer, a clock, low fuel level warning indicator, a trip computer, external temperature display, and a compass.
Seats and trim features in the Cadillac Escalade include 6-, 7- or 8-person total seating capacity depending on the configuration of the second and third rows of seating. It comes with leather upholstery, a leather and wood steering wheel and door trims, leather trim on the shift knob, alloy and wood trim on dash, and wood trim on center console. It is also equipped with 8-way, height-adjustable, multi-level heating power driver and passenger seats with power adjustable lumbar support. Second and third row seats can be either bucket or manual, folding split-benches. Center, folding armrests are optional. The SUV is also equipped with rear ventilation ducts with fan control.
