The 2008 BMW M6 luxury sports coupe and convertible offer exhilarating performance in an understated, yet elegant, presentation. The M6 is available in coupe (MSRP $99,300) and convertible (MSRP $105,100) versions and competes with the Bentley Continental GT, Chevrolet Corvette, Ferrari F430, Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG and SLR McLaren, and Porsche 911. Both the M6 coupe and convertible are equipped with a 500-horsepower, 5.0-liter V10 dual overhead cam engine. Buyers can choose either a 7-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) automated manual or conventional 6-speed manual transmission, and both include a rear wheel drive system with rear limited slip differential.
The current M6 has the style and performance of a supercar while still being an excellent daily driver. The original BMW M6 debuted in 1983 and "was critically acclaimed throughout its lifespan for its elegant, aggressive 'shark-nose' styling, well-appointed luxury features, and its quick performance."  It was out of production for nearly two decades and is now currently in its second generation. The M6 Convertible is in its' first generation of production.
The M6 is jam packed with standard features but can be customized with a variety of accessories. Suspension features include active, four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, self-leveling suspension, and multi-link rear suspension. Exterior features include 19 x 9.5 inch alloy wheels (19 x 8.5 inch front wheels), performance tires, rear spoiler, and a chrome grille.
On the inside, M6 seating includes 4-person total seating capacity, height-adjustable, sport, multi-level heating driver and front passenger seats with power adjustable lumbar support. Instrumentation features include a compass, external temperature display, trip computer, clock, tachometer, and a low fuel level warning indicator. Trims are defined with premium leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, alloy trim on the shift knob, wood trim on the dash, and alloy, leather and wood trims on the center console. Additionally convenience features include rear defogger, cargo tie downs, cruise and audio controls on the tilt and telescopic steering wheel, front seat-back storage, front console with storage, manual rear seat easy entry, front and rear cup holders, front door pockets, and 12V front power outlets.
The BMW M6 power features include 12-way power driver and passenger seats, remote door locks, mirrors and windows, 2 one-touch power windows, retractable and heated mirrors, reverse tilt passenger mirror (for curb view when vehicle is in reverse), exterior automatic dimming electrochromatic mirrors, a remote trunk release, universal remote transmitter (for garage door opener...
