The 1 Series is the modern descendant of the historic 2002 coupe, which made the BMW brand popular in the U.S. in the late 1960s and early 1970s. BMW 1 Series prices start in the high $20,000 range offering a lower-cost BMW option to customers who can't afford the 3 Series. However the 1 Series will have BMW's core attributes of pure performance and premium design. This car is going to be a huge hit.
