Complete Audi A5 and S5 New Car Reviews listed below

The 2008 A5 quattro mid-size luxury coupe is a sleek and gorgeous vehicle that is new for 2008 and competes with the BMW 6 Series, Infiniti G37, and Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. The A5 quattro comes with a 265-horsepower, 3.2-liter V6 engine, quattro all-wheel drive system, and a choice of manual (MSRP $39,900) or automatic (MSRP $41,200) transmissions. The S5 quattro is the powered-up version of the A5, and competes with the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class AMG 63 and BMW M6. It comes with a 354-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8 engine, quattro all-wheel drive system, and a choice of manual (MSRP $50,500) or automatic (MSRP $51,800) transmissions. All versions can be customized with accessories and are equipped with the Tiptronic manual auto-shift system.

Basic features for all Audi A5 trim levels include four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, multi-link front and rear suspension, trip computers, variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, power glass sunroof, heated mirrors, speed-proportional steering wheels, tilt and telescopic steering wheels, Sirius satellite radio, CD player with MP3 playback, Bluetooth connectivity, and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Safety features in the Audi A5 and S5 include emergency braking assist, traction and stability control, child seat anchors, front fog lights, dual front side-mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, and front and rear seatbelt pretensions.

Aside from the legendary quattro system, some Audi technology innovations included are the Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) where the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, which in turn boosts combustion efficiency and engine performance. [1] The Audi Multi-Media Interface system (MMI) which connects all the systems running the vehicle, an advanced rear parking system where a warning tone indicates the distance of your vehicle from a parking obstacle and also gives you the rear view via a camera hooked to your MMI screen, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system which ensures optimum sound through various speed and road conditions through its 14-speaker sound system with 505 digitally amplified watts. [2]

The Audi A5 was unveiled at the Melbourne International Show and Geneva Motor Show on March 6, 2007 and debuted a new Audi platform - the Modular Longitudinal Platform (MLP) - notable for its powertrain being located behind the front axle as opposed to the former platform, which mounted the engine over the front axle. [3] The new platform aims to achieve a more balanced weight on the front and rear wheels. [4]

The 2008 Audi S5 is available at the end of 2007, while the 2008 Audi A5 will be available in the Spring of 2008.
