Audi's new compact series amounts to a five-door car with hatchback styling under the descriptive label of Sportback. Latest treatment is A3 3.2 Quattro S-line with all-wheel-drive (AWD) traction, but there's also a front-wheel-drive (FWD) edition labeled A3 2.0T FrontTrak.

Complete Audi A3 New Car Reviews listed below
The 2008 Audi A3 compact luxury wagon is the smallest product in Audi's lineup. It competes with the Saab 9-3, Subaru Outback, and the Volvo V50. This sub-compact vehicle is available as the A3 2.0T (MSRP starts at $25,930) which comes with a turbocharged, 200 hp-engine, front-wheel drive, and six-speed manual transmission or six-speed S automatic transmission, and the A3 3.2 (starts at $34,915) and comes with 250-hp engine, quattro all-wheel drive, and six-speed automatic transmission.
The first-generation Audi A3 was launched in Europe in 1996, and was the first Volkswagen Auto Group model to use the A4 (also known as the PQ34) platform. Through the years, it underwent engine and interior expansions and was later re-launched as the second-generation A3, featuring a roomier interior, a new mechanical platform, and better fuel efficiency with its Fuel Stratified Injection system.
Both Audi A3 trim levels can be customized with options and accessories. The A3 2.0T offers basic features such as four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear anti-roll bars, power and speed-dependent steering, with an option to include the sport suspension, as well. Its exterior comes with standard power door mirrors and body-side molding, with the option to include heated door mirrors and spoilers. It is equipped with BOSE speakers, Bluetooth, digital AM/FM radio tuner with dual diversity antenna system, single CD player, and first-row LCD entertainment feature monitors. MP3 capability is optional.
The A3 3.2 comes with the same basic features mentioned above plus some of the optional features such as the sport suspension, auto-dimming mirrors, power driver's seat, leather and sport steering wheel, six-disc CD player, MP3 capability, delay-off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, outside temperature display, and a trip computer.
Both Audi A3s pretty much have the same safety and security features, except for the perimeter/approach lights - which are optional on the A3 2.0T, but standard on the A3 3.2. Rear side-impact airbags are also optional on both models.
A safety and crash test report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) showed good overall ratings for the 2007 Audi A3 (vehicle tested was a 2006 Audi A3).
A reliability history report from ConsumerReports.org showed how the Audi A3 held up mechanically from 1997 through 2006. The report showed the A3's engine to be in excellent condition, with only a few minor problems - and with more signs of wear-and-tear to the body hardware and audio system.
Price-wise, a used A3 2006 now costs between $21,230 and $31,465, significantly lower than the original MSRP, considering the short time span. This means that because the resale value of the Audi A3 is lower th...
